In ancient Judaism, a woman was unclean while she was on her period. She could only return to the marriage bed 7 days after her period stopped and only then after going through ritual cleansing. So, that means opportunity for sexual relations were not nearly as plentiful as it is for us since Christ came.
So, my friends, let’s talk about periods and sex
From the Bible
Leviticus 12: "Purification after childbirth."
Leviticus 15:19: "When a woman has her regular flow of blood, the impurity of her monthly period will last seven days, and anyone who touches her will be unclean till evening."
Leviticus 15:28: "When she is cleansed from her discharge, she must count off seven days, and after that she will be ceremonially clean."
Galatians 3:23-25: "Before the coming of this faith, we were held in custody under the law, locked up until the faith that was to come would be revealed. So the law was our guardian until Christ came that we might be justified by faith. Now that this faith has come, we are no longer under a guardian."
